The State of Israel launched a bold attempt to eradicate any chance of self-determination in the Gaza Strip. This territory occupied in 1967 became apart in a fenced Palestinian National Authority (PNA) soon after the victory of Hamas in the general elections of 2006.
I would like to present a way to understand the military operations of the Zionist state. It casts three fundamental factors such as:
– goes through the Israeli election timetable, when the dispute occurs in a game of cards marked with two former prime ministers running again (Barak and Netanyahu);
– a possibility of another attack against the palestinian population in the fair of the U.S. government – Bush Jr leaving the White House and supporting military measures and Obama keeping silent;
– most sinister of all, there is a degree of reality in the conspiracy theory that the closer current president (illegitimate) of ANP Mahmoud Abbas Israeli foreign policy.
I would not say that Mahmoud Abbas Gabinet is responsible for the Holocaust promoted by Israel (financed with U.S. money), but at least, this very controversial arab politician has two sins. One, he promoted internal repression against the palestinian resistance, specially to lefty groups. Two, Abbas is seen as being a reliable partner of the Arab leaders traitors, such as the President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Saudi monarch Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz.
More concerned with its internal hegemony – increasingly groggy – the heir to the party of Yasser Arafat showed up as the man to be praised by the Bush administration Jr. / Cheney, the successive cabinets Zionists and the explicit alliance between the giant oil companies and the Arab rulers. Furthermore, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas, integrity of Sunni belief) broke with Fatah – historically the majority party, divided into many factions and eternal accusation and under suspicion of corruption and won at the ballot box. Despite having win, has not won, having lost the West Bank and tooking Gaza.
The urgency of Ehud Olmert to release the attack is also justified given the constraint on the new U.S. administration that is by taking. The temporary vacuum of power (by the popular disapproval of Bush Jr.) and the electoral period is approaching the ideal blend to promote a military operation that stinks to genocide scheduled. It has already exceeded the 400 the number of Palestinians killed by the bombing "surgical" of Israel. This started before the invasion by land. The goal of this State – borned with the pact between the Palmach, Haganah, the Irgun and Stern – is, in theory, to eliminate the alternative palestinian fundamentalists. This argument is false. In case the Zionists smash Hamas in Gaza, losing its capacity to government and military action, it is an illusion to suppose that the Fatah faction of Abbas is also a viable alternative there. In the absence of this authoritarian political-military-religious organization’s Hamas, there is no legitimate authority if this “power” is built with the help of the Zionist invaders. The goal of Israel is not the end of fundamentalism Suni, but simply the mismanagement of Gaza. In case the Hamas can draw with a political victory, as made of Hizbullah in July 2006, there will be paved the way for victory in Palestinian internal politics.
The lucidity that came from the left
Amidst the chaos installed when Fatah began to repress using the ANP, a chaotic situation that develops in the confrontation between Hamas and Abbas faction of – culminating in the coup of the government wing of Fatah – the more lucid proposal came from the left Arab nationalism. In the manifesto signed by: Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FDLP), Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP), the three historical left forces claim by a unit of combat, logistical support against attacker and reconstruction of basic means structures while fighting house by house. If there is an accumulation of experience in the years of fighting between the occupying forces of Israel and Arab resistance, everything leads us to believe that the land occupation can become the beginning of the 3rd. Intifada. There is a question remaining. Will Hamas lead solely the Palestinian resistance?
