The Israel attack against the Gaza Strip forces the world to take a position. All analysts must clarify their points of view. I am in favor for creating a secular Palestinian state, with political and religious freedom and viable. This means a country with full powers on its territory, wealth, population and borders. That state is not feasible both in scope as the current condition of control that Israel imposes on the Occupied Territories in 1967, Gaza and West Bank.
It is from this perspective that I expose opinion. Some analysts have been saying that the Zionist attack was an answer to Hamas missiles. I say it is a partial lie. Ehud Olmert cabinet “understands” reasons and numerous factors to bomb and invade a plain, 30 km long inhabited by 1.5 million people. Believe me, the land-land rockets launched by the suni integrists religious-political movement (Islamic Resistance, Hamas) is one of the reasons, and not the most important. More important was to create a situation of fact to the new U.S. administration, the country which the State of Israel has visceral connections. At the same time it depends financially, its strength in U.S. domestic politics creates a relationship of political and ideological interdependence.
If the US dries the source, the Israeli government does not close the accounts of their military budget. They need the White House to pay the permanent war bill. As the political momentum in Washington is somehow uncertain, right wing Zionists may be thinking: “we must strengthen the pro-Israel position inside the new democratic government”. This Israel’s worries are despite already having an indication of an ally to the role of secretary of State, the lawyer Hillary Rodham “Clinton”, accused in the Whitewater affair. Even with someone’s trust them in a key post, "the rate of risk" tolerated by Tel Aviv is minimal. With the discrediting of George W. Bush and while he Chicago University lecturer was on vacations before assuming the 1st political charge in the global, the strategic ally in the Middle East require the new administration needs to take a position. I see the concern of Israel with the commitments of Obama as "exaggerated."
Although he was "concerned about the civilians killed in Gaza" Barack Obama made another public statement more forceful. 12 hours after his official nomination by the Democratic Party, Obama appeared, on June 5, 2008, before more than 7,000 members of the most important political lobby of the world, Others On the stage of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), next to Hillary Clinton, he promised more than $ 30 billion dollars to support the State of Israel.
This “aid”, without changing the U.S. foreign policy, is to reinforce what we see. By the time of closing this article, according to the transmission of Al Jazeera TV (in english), the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza was more than 660 people. The attack will not ensure "peace for the region" and not weaken the Hamas, on the contrary. In all aspects, supporting the Israeli occupation is criminal, unacceptable and unsustainable.
